Sessions last 50 minutes and provide a confidential space for you to focus on yourself.
During sessions:
You choose what you would like to explore
We work at a pace that feels comfortable for you
I will listen and support you in making sense of your experiences
Counselling is a collaborative process. You bring your experiences, thoughts and feelings; I bring a supportive and understanding presence.
Starting counselling can feel like a big decision. It is completely normal to feel unsure about what to expect.
The first step is simply making contact. We can arrange a brief introductory conversation where you can:
Ask any questions you may have
Share what has brought you to counselling
Talk about what you would like support with
There is no pressure or obligation.
Confidentiality is an important part of counselling. What you share will remain private, with the usual professional exceptions relating to safeguarding and serious risk.
These boundaries will always be explained clearly when we begin working together.
Choosing a counsellor is an important decision. Our first conversation gives us the opportunity to discuss what you are looking for and whether I might be the right person to support you.

Walk-and-talk counselling takes place outdoors in Horsehay, Telford. Walking side by side can feel more comfortable than sitting face to face and may help conversation flow more naturally. We will discuss the meeting point, route, confidentiality, weather and whether this way of working is suitable for you before our first session.
