Hello, I’m Maja
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or difficult to navigate alone. Counselling offers a space where you can slow down, feel heard and explore what matters to you.
I specialise in supporting children and young people who may be experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, friendship or relationship difficulties, school-related pressure and significant changes in their lives.
With a background in education, pastoral care and wellbeing, I understand the challenges young people can face at school, at home and as they develop their sense of identity. I offer a warm, calm and non-judgemental space where they can express themselves without pressure and begin to make sense of what they are feeling.
My counselling approach is rooted in person-centred therapy, based on the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to provide quick solutions or tell you what decisions to make, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, feelings and choices.
I aim to offer the core conditions that underpin effective counselling:
Empathy – seeking to understand your experience from your perspective.
Authenticity – bringing openness and honesty into our work together.
Acceptance – providing a non-judgemental space where you can be yourself.
Counselling is a collaborative process. You decide what you would like to explore, and together we create space to understand your experiences and what you need moving forward. You do not have to navigate everything alone.
Taking the first step can feel uncertain. A brief introductory conversation allows us to discuss what you are looking for, answer any questions and decide whether counselling together feels like the right fit.
Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
“From the start it has been a welcoming environment. I have felt listened to and cared about and have been helped to find strategies that have made things easier to deal with. It has become something that I can look forward to each week"
